The Role An opportunity has become available for an Environmental Health Officer - Senior to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.You will Deliver environmental health services that are complex and varied in nature, and to identify and integrate evidence-based options into practiceExercise independent judgement, high level problem solving and evidentiary skills to monitor, enforce and undertake complex investigations of public health legislationUndertake health risk assessments, research, plan, implement and/or oversee the implementation of environmental health projects and compliance programsHigh level participation in a multi-disciplinary team responding to public health incidents and disasters, and communicable disease outbreaks About youTo be successful in this position you will require: A tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification from a recognised tertiary institution that is accredited by Environmental Health AustraliaDrivers LicenceEvidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis BTuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be requiredDeclaration of serious discipline history must be disclosedCriminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost) Benefits Flexible work optionsCareer DevelopmentSalary PackagingModern FacilitiesDiverse Work CultureResearch Opportunities12.75% super17.5% leave loading Salary Permanent full timeBase salary ranging from $124 435 - $133 901 per annum About UsThe Gold Coast Public Health Unit aligns with the Nursing, Midwifery and Patient Experience Directorate in the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service.
