Successful applicants will become part of its busy metallurgy testing laboratories that strives to exceed customer expectations by delivering quality results on time, and by maintaining strong relationships with its clients.Initially, these would be casual positions with a view to permanent employment after a period of service. This role does require availability for shift work- day/afternoon and occasionally night. The laboratory is based in Balcatta, a northern suburb of Perth. These are not FIFO mine site positions.The day to dayApplicants will be based in the Balcatta laboratory, typical duties include: Undertake laboratory activities which may include but are not limited to cleaning, labelling, weighing, bulking, sample preparation, digestion, fusing, instrument operation, classical methods, completing jobs/runs for subsequent procedures. Apply time management skills so that routine laboratory activities are conducted in a safe, accurate and timely manner. Attendance and completion of site and online training when required. Maintenance of high standards of cleanliness in the workplace. Strict compliance to ALS procedures and policies. The essentialsThese are physically demanding positions that require applicants to be physically fit, have access to reliable transportation and be able to work day or afternoon shift as required.Applicants with previous experience in similar laboratory or mine site roles will be highly regarded, however, training will be provided for successful applicants with no experience.Suitable candidates for this role must have: Good numerical, communication, organisational and time management skills Be detail oriented, highly motivated and an ability to problem solve. A moderate level of computer literacy Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
