* Key Leadership Role * Influence the Future of Energy The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) brings together Victoria's energy, environment, water, agriculture, forestry, resources, climate action and emergency management functions to improve Victoria's liveability for the generations to enjoy in the years to come. The Energy Group within DEECA works with industry and the community to develop a secure and sustainable energy future. It plays a key role in supporting current and future energy projects, programs and reforms, and makes a valuable contribution to the transformation of the Energy sector in Victoria. One of six divisions within the Energy Group, the Energy Transition and Strategy Division is seeking to appoint to the position of Executive Director. The Executive Director, Energy Transition and Strategy plays a leading role in shaping the strategic direction of the Division across policy development, legislation, regulatory frameworks, intergovernmental relations and strategy. The position also provides advice to the Deputy Secretary, Secretary and Ministers across all aspects of energy policy including wholesale electricity and gas markets, renewable energy, integration of distributed energy resources and electric vehicles in the electricity system, and transmission and distribution networks. Critical to success in this position will be leadership; building a high performing, capable and collaborative team and culture. To be considered for this position you will have extensive knowledge of, and experience working in the Energy Sector at a senior executive level with a particular focus on developing strategy and policy. You will demonstrate the ability to influence and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders and you will have proven track record building confident, collaborative teams with a positive culture in large complex environments. Tertiary qualification in Economics, Law or a related field are also expected. This is a fixed term position available for a period of up to 5 years. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
