Aboriginal Teacher Assistant (Teacher Assistant)

Position DetailsMazenod College is seeking applications from suitably qualified and trained Aboriginal Teacher Assistants to join the Learning Diversity team. The Aboriginal Teaching Assistant works with Indigenous students in the College and in the boarding community. Mazenod College has an enrolment of Aboriginal students from across the state, including boarding students from the Kimberley region and local day students. The Aboriginal Teacher Assistant is responsible for supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) students to enhance their learning outcomes within the College. The Aboriginal Teacher Assistant achieves this by developing constructive and respectful relationships with all members of our community and supporting the holistic participation of ATSI students in the life of the College. The successful applicant will demonstrate the flexibility to assist in both the daily operations of the College and the boarding community as working hours will be in-school time and after school in the boarding community. The FTE is set at 0.5 including 2 days in school and 2 afternoons/evenings (4pm - 8pm) in boarding.
