Who we are looking for Our ideal candidate will be: The successful applicant will have professional experience in the delivery of food services/catering in various sections within a commercial kitchen (including pastry), ideally in a multi-faceted venue and, preferably within high quality and high-capacity venues. You will also have the skills and attributes needed to deliver high quality catering outcomes for DPS. You will have strong management and acute organisational skills, including the ability to help service all kitchen operations, develop a positive kitchen culture of rapport amongst staff, create & cost standard recipes, create breakdowns & daily preparation sheets, whilst ensuring efficient rostering & stock control. Job Specific Requirements: The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected/Restricted) security clearance. The occupants of these positions must be willing to work according to a roster and work overtime if required. Overtime and penalty rates apply. The occupants of these positions may be required to always wear a uniform as directed and present in a professional manner when on duty. These positions requires duties that are physical in nature - moving stock, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling. Duty Statement PSL2 Classification: Parliamentary Services Level 2 Branch: Commercial Operations Branch Section: APH Catering Immediate supervisor: Executive Chef Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Services Level 2 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. As a member of the APH Catering and Events Team, assist with the delivery of food, beverage and catering services at APH through an in-house service delivery model that provides a high standard of food and service across all outlets to a wide range of stakeholders including building occupants, other parliamentary departments, vendors, function organisers and the general public. 2. Provide high quality service in the preparation and production within the kitchen operation to meet appropriate standards by the application of specialist catering knowledge and techniques to meet the requirements of customers. 3. Maintain a contemporary knowledge of food industry trends, with the intent to recommend/implement improvements to develop all aspects of current food production, presentation, and service. 4. Participate and contribute to the Service First Culture as a motivated team player who is respectful and ethical. 5. Establish and meet deadlines by planning and prioritising work to ensure timely service delivery. 6. Ensure compliance with all relevant WHS and food safety standards (HACCP). 7. Plan, prepare, implement and review menus with recipe documentation while maintaining departmental food costs. 5. Establish and meet deadlines by planning and prioritising work to ensure timely service delivery. 6. Maintain a professional rapport and working relationship with fellow team members and with other building occupant's and visitors. 7. Maintain and develop the kitchens to their best operative level by monitoring existing equipment, new technology and innovations, and liaising with management on projected replacement plant to maximise the use of available resources. 8. Salary Currently, the salary range for these positions are: Parliamentary Services Level 2 $66,440 - $71,327 per annum. Parliamentary Services Level 3 $72,914 - $76,196 per annum.
