About the role: The Custodial Health Service (CHS) is a state-wide health service, overseeing the healthcare needs of all people in care or custody of Victoria Police. The Custodial Health Service - Quality Manager is a full time ongoing position with Victoria Police working closely with the CHS management team in achieving the national safety and quality health service standards.

Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager, the successful applicant will oversee all quality activities with a focus on clinical risk and improving the quality of care provided to people in care or custody of Victoria Police. As CHS strives to meet the National Healthcare Standards, the Quality Manager's work will align with the Clinical Governance (implementation) project team and support new work processes at the clinical level.

The position will be located at the Melbourne Custody Centre however the role will sit at dual locations including Victoria Police Centre on Spencer St Docklands

Your duties will include: Policy and Procedure development and maintenance Incident investigation, review and presentation Audit development and involvement in procedure compliance Oversee quality plan development and maintenance with nurse managers Local level quality and safety initiatives / small projects Coaching and development of staff Involvement in National Healthcare Standards implementation and potential accreditation activities As the successful applicant, you will have: Current Nursing Registration with Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency ( AHPRA) Leadership and change management experience Critical thinking and problem-solving skills High level of interpersonal and communication skills including written and verbal Understanding of the National Safety and quality Primary and Community Healthcare Standards Experience in policy and procedure development and review Experience with auditing and procedure compliance Experience in clinical risk management including incident / case review and root cause analysis Requirements and relevant information: The position is located at the Melbourne Custody Centre - 520 Lonsdale St, Melbourne, but will require some work to be completed at the Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer St Docklands Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa. The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
