So... How many hardware engineers does it take to power a light? At least one more! LIFX is looking for a talented Hardware Engineer to join our Engineering Team in Melbourne to help us continue to create exciting new products and experiences in 2024 and beyond.

 Joining the LIFX Engineering Team offers you a unique opportunity to work hands-on with consumer Internet of Things (IoT) products. At LIFX, you will gain comprehensive exposure to a wide-ranging technical stack, encompassing everything from the firmware on our devices to the test systems operational in our factory. Beyond these technical aspects, you'll also take part in the full product development process, from initial concept to final manufacturing.

 We're on an ambitious path, aiming to bring more than 10 innovative products to market each year. This position is not just about engineering; it's about being a pivotal part of a team that sees a product journey through from its inception to the hands of our customers, contributing to setting new standards in the IoT and smart home industry. 

 LIFX has just been acquired by a dominant player in the United States lighting and smart home industry, Feit Electric. SKILLS Readiness to learn new technologies, read documentation and deepen your skills. 

Ability to navigate complex systems and work through nuanced problems.

Strong knowledge of hardware design principles, testing tools, equipment and techniques. 

Experience with designing and reviewing schematics and PCB layouts, preferably in Altium.

Experience with troubleshooting and debugging hardware and providing technical support to other teams. 

Experience in Hardware Quality Assurance, including developing and executing test plans to ensure product reliability, compliance with standards, and customer satisfaction. 

Familiarity with implementing and testing products that use LEDs, LED Drivers, and AC/DC Power Supplies. 

Effective communication, teamwork, and project management skills. 

HELPFUL Python experience for on-line product testing and validation 

Experience in Hardware Quality Assurance, including developing and executing test plans to ensure product reliability, compliance with standards, and customer satisfaction. 

Working with overseas factories and suppliers to implement concepts and designs
