Lead the commissioning of services that are secured through grants or contracts for the non-government delivered components of the Children and Families Capability Framework which relate to the Child Safety Service, Statewide Advice & Referral Service, Adoption and Permanency Services, Out of Home Care and other related funded family support services administered under or aligned with the objectives of the Adoption Act 1988 and the Children, Young Persons and Their Families Act 1997.

Duties Lead the commissioning of services that are secured through grants or contracts for the non-government delivered components of the Children and Families Capability Framework which relate to the Child Safety Service, Statewide Advice & Referral Service, Adoption and Permanency Services, Out of Home Care and other related funded family support services administered under or aligned with the objectives of the Adoption Act 1988 and the Children, Young Persons and Their Families Act 1997.

Period of Appointment ASAP for a period of five years

Hours per fortnight 73.5 hours per fortnight

The Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 requires persons undertaking work in a regulated activity to be registered. A regulated activity is a child related service or activity defined in the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Regulations 2014. This registration must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of this may be checked at any time during employment.

Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status - Employment). The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

Conviction checks in the following areas: crimes of violence sex related offences serious drug offences crimes involving dishonesty serious traffic offences Disciplinary actions in previous employment check.

Relevant tertiary qualifications. A senior executive with a proven record of management in a large private or public sector organisation.
