Opengear designs and manufactures products for data centre and remote site management. Those products include network management software and management appliances that are deployed by the largest IT organisations worldwide. We are a division of Digi International, a global company, and have offices in many locations across North America, Asia Pacific and Europe.
We are seeking someone who is passionate about building secure, reliable, robust solutions developed on Linux based open-source development stacks to lead our Architecture and Security team. As a member of Opengear's Engineering leadership team, you will be guiding and mentoring our architects and security experts in ensuring delivery of world class solutions used by some of the giants of the online world. You will oversee software architecture designs, ensuring they are aligned with our strategic roadmap, and provide our teams with secure and scalable frameworks to build our solutions upon. You will be expected to work closely with all our engineering teams and other stakeholders to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our solutions.

Manage and lead the Architecture and Security Team and their initiatives within the organisation.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust and scalable software solutions.Engage with Product and Sales groups within the business to identify and respond to customer needs.Evaluate and recommend technology solutions to ensure the ongoing evolution of our products and solutions.Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in architecture and security.
Requirements/Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.Proven experience in a senior-level role focusing on architecture and/or security in a Linux environment.Proficient in designing and implementing secure software architectures.In-depth knowledge of open-source software and its integration into enterprise systems.Demonstrated leadership experience of 5 years or more across small to medium sized teams.Excellent leadership and communication skills.Bonus
Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.Experience with cloud security and DevOps tools and technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker).Experience with Networking technologiesExposure to hardware developmentWhat We Offer
