Seeking an experienced Cyber Security Assurance Lead to play a pivotal role in fortifying our digital infrastructure with your expertise and leadership.

As the Cyber Security Assurance Lead, you will lead the development, ongoing operation and process improvement associated with cyber security Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC). You will oversee the cyber security certification and accreditation activities of the DFR IT systems, ensuring that security measures align with industry standards, regulatory requirements and organisational policies.

Job Description

Reporting to the Director Cyber Security, you will apply your experience and expertise in cyber security to enhance the organisations overall cyber resilience by providing advice and guidance to cross functional IT teams and senior leadership, contributing to risk assessments of new and existing capability supporting DFR functions and overseeing implementation of cyber security policy and procedures.

You will: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in overseeing the cyber security certification and accreditation activities of DFR IT systems. Improve cyber security resilience and culture by providing advice and guidance to cross functional IT teams, senior leadership and the broader DFR organisation Develop, manage and maintain cyber security policy, plans and procedures. Develop and oversee implementation of cyber security awareness training Oversee and contribute to the development of action plans and prioritize remediation of security risks, vulnerabilities and threats to the organization's systems, networks and data Planning, coordinating and conducting security audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of security controls and measures Establishing and maintaining security governance frameworks, including roles, responsibilities and decision-making processes related to cyber security Developing and maintaining security metrics to measure the effectiveness of security controls and reporting to senior management and stakeholders Monitoring emerging threats and trends and recommending improvements to security policies, procedures and controls Candidate's Profile

As the Cyber Security Assurance Lead, you will have at least 10 years experience in cyber security roles with progressively increasing responsibilities. You will have experience in areas such as risk assessments, compliance management, security audits, incident response and security governance.

Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant field and industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent are preferable.

Your background will demonstrate: Experience working with Defence or Government is desirable Strong technical skills in areas such network security, application security, cloud security, encryption technologies and security tools and technologies Solid understanding of risk management principles and practices including risk methodologies, risk mitigation strategies and risk monitoring and reporting Strong leadership, communication and inter personal skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify security risks and analyse security incidents Ability to learn new ICT systems and technologies. Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and manage multiple priorities Ability to work independently or as a collaborative team member. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on the latest tends and practices in cyber security To apply for this position, you must be an Australian citizen and have the ability to maintain an Australian AGSVA security clearance.
