Victory Minerals - Ballarat Gold Mine is a successful gold explorer and producer with five significant goldfields in Victoria's gold belt. The primary focus is the high-grade underground gold mine in Ballarat, which started producing gold in September 2011, and consistently produces 40,000 to 50,000 ounces of gold per year. 

The Ballarat Gold Mine is located within the beautiful regional town of Ballarat (located just 100km west of Melbourne), which is experiencing unprecedented growth and development. 

Role: A rare and exciting opportunity has become available for a Mine Engineer. Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, the Mining Engineer's role is to support the Mining team to develop and produce from designated ore blocks. This role requires a combination of technical and operational skills. Mine scheduling, Mine design and operations support are the major areas of responsibility, as are:

Maintaining leadership safety standards within the Mine Operations Team. Ensuring mining standards are met. Establishing and maintaining a proactive safety culture. Tasks and Responsibilities Maintaining leadership safety standards within the Mine Operations Team, ensuring mining standards are met. Establishing and maintaining a proactive safety culture. Develop and execute mining methods for upcoming ore production, in conjunction with the Mine Foreman and Geology team. Assist with the preparation weekly plan by the Mining Foreman Mine Design for development and production Co-ordinate any consultants work on mine design. Assist with monthly ventilation. Collaboration with consultants within the mining department. Develop and execute the mining methods for the upcoming ore production, in conjunction with the Mine Foreman and Geology team. Direct meetings, reviews and interaction with Mining crews and technical personnel underground, on a day-to-day basis, to ensure smooth delivery of development metres and production, to ensure efficient and productive ore mining to maximize grade recovery. Qualifications and Experience Mandatory:  Degree in Mining Engineering  Previous Underground Mining experience (minimum 2 years will be considered)  Experience in working in a narrow-vein mining methods Excellent interpersonal, team building skills and organisational skills Excellent oral and written communication skills at all levels (internally and externally). Manual C-Class Driver's licence Proficiency with Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook) Proficiency with specialist software packages (Deswick) Demonstrated ability to prioritise and be flexible Coolness under pressure, good team member Capable of getting along with a wide range of people in an underground and office environment Show respect and support for members of the team Completed at least 1 full year of Underground experience  Exposure to/knowledge of Ventsim Exposure to weekly scheduling processes Able to prioritise task depending on important Residential mine, located centrally in booming Ballarat - live close to home, no more FIFO Excellent remuneration and benefits Excellent roster (8:6, Wednesdays to Wednesdays) Free car parking Uniforms supplied and fully laundered on site Flexible, supportive, and fun team environment Ongoing training and professional development On-site gym and health benefits At the Ballarat Gold Mine, we are equal opportunity employers. We value having an inclusive, equitable, diverse and merit-based workplace.
