Utilise your management and financial expertise to provide support and advice to theĀ  Finance and Procurement branch Ongoing, Full-TimeĀ  opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public Service About Us: The Finance and Procurement business unit provides department-wide financial, procurement and workplace services through strategic leadership and setting the direction, policy and processes, and partnering with the department to build capability.

The Finance Branch leads the department's efforts to comply with government and legislative financial management responsibilities while driving a culture a strategic financial management across the department. It is responsible for the department's financial and budgetary policies and processes, including statutory reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, taxation compliance, government reporting (including Standing Directions), and facilitation of the annual budget process.

About the Role: Leading a team of finance professionals and supported by embedded procurement professionals, the Manager, Group Finance and Procurement, delivers on the department's centrally managed, locally delivered financial services model. The Manager, Group Finance and Procurement plays an integral role in delivering business partnership for the Deputy Secretaries and their Group Executives for both finance and procurement. The role provides financial advisory support to the Groups in both responsible and strategic financial management.

Some of your duties will include:

Providing effective leadership in financial and procurement business partnership with the Deputy Secretary and Group executives. Leading the strategic budget and financial management for a group, ensuring compliance with financial management obligations through providing strategic advisory support to the Deputy Secretary and Group executives. Undertaking complex financial analysis to provide expert financial advice to inform the department's strategic decision making on matters involving a groups budget profile, financial sustainability, savings initiatives and other policies and programs as required. Demonstrated experience in public sector policy and financial management Highly developed conceptual, analytical and research skills with an aptitude for problem solving in the context of financial and budget resource management. Qualifications:
