Project Operations Manager

$90,000 - $110,000 per year, depends on experience

The purpose of this position is to manage the projects from tender and quoting stage through to completion stage for a growing, busy water bore drilling company.

You will provide project management and some onsite support on safety, environmental, specifications, design and contractual requirements across your portfolio of projects. Responsibility 1 - Act as the point of contact between the Chief Executive Officer and the Field Operations Manager on the progress of each project. 

Responsibility 2 - Manage and lead the detailed quoting, tenders, enquiries and sales process for new projects. 

Responsibility 3 - Manage and produce contracts, document preparation, SWIMS, insurances and various other compliance requirements in preparation for projects.

Responsibility 4 - Manage the workplace health and safety and people requirements, alongside the Field Operations Manager.

Responsibility 5 - Manage and complete the ordering and stock purchasing, asset management and budget requirements of the projects.

Responsibility 6 - Be the Project Management liaison with the client on each project, keeping them up to date, answering queries, managing expectations and handling project changes, negotiations and feedback. 

Responsibility 7 - Produce accurate reports and updates to the Chief Executive Officer.

Responsibility 8 - Ability to lead and have a great relationship with the Field Operations Manager and the wider team, to help the company achieve its goals.

(Some travel required to various sites particularly in regional NSW and QLD)

Work experience & skills  Proven experience in similar role, especially experience working within the water drilling sector

Excellent computer skills and project management experience

Advanced budget, forecasting and financial management and quoting skills

Experience with managing, supervising and scheduling activities of Supervisors, labour workforce/ subcontractors and administration staff to ensure coordination and compliance of the project process

Essential qualities or behaviours You will have a proven abilIty to work autonomously, proactively establish priorities and take responsibility for time sensitive deliverables.

Your strong communication and organisational skills will be an asset - as will your attention to detail, initiative and talent to engage with a diverse range of companies and people.

Drive and resilience to work well under pressure 

Willingness to undertake ongoing training and up-skilling 

Ability to build and maintain strong relationships across all levels of business 

Current and valid driver licence
