Location Full job description Employer: Warren, Kylie A employs a range of support workers to assist with an NDIS participant who requires high level care Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with individuals with special needs and a passion for providing high-quality care and support.

Responsibilities:

Assessing the needs of a special needs child, assisting with the education, support and development including engaging with physiotherapists, speech pathologists and behavioural specialists to develop and implement care goals

Monitoring and reporting on progress, including hand over shift notes

Referral to agencies that can provide additional support

Assessing needs and identifying appropriate resources

Promote awareness of community resources and services, including liaising with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies and private businesses

Supervise participant at all times, including providing personal care, nutrition, medication and monitor behaviours

Follow protocols and procedures for seizures and other medical events

Provide high level of care to special needs participant, having training in the management of epilepsy, chronic lung disease, oral aversion, peg feeds, autism

Provide physical support to assist in the movement of the participant

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Special Education) preferred

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Knowledge of community resources and services for individuals with special needs

CPR and First Aid certification

Ability to provide a high level of care and support to special needs participants

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
