The Animal Referral Hospital Canberra is currently on the hunt for full time, part time and casual emergency vets! Say goodbye to days of back to back 20 minute consults and dentals, and hello the excitement and career growth emergency has to offer!

Job Description About us: We've recently relocated to our new state of the art purpose-built hospital that's fully equipped to get you your diagnosis with the latest imaging and diagnostic equipment. There's a full in-house laboratory (CBC, biochemistry, blood gas, coags, sedivue), and access to IDEXX's Extended Internal Medical Specialist Consultation Services after hours. We've also got ultrasound, digital radiography, endoscopy, 64 slice CT and high field MRI. There's 3 dedicated surgical suites, 8 consultation rooms, and a dedicated grieving room. Our emergency department works alongside our specialist surgical, medical, oncology, behaviour, and orthopaedic medicine & rehabilitation departments.

Our emergency department currently operates through the afternoon, evening and overnight period closing at 8am through the week, and is operational 24/7 on weekends and public holidays. We see primary consultations, patients referred from general practice clinics for overnight and ongoing care, and oversee the hospitalised referral department patients after hours.

Perks on offer: $70/hour remuneration, with either casual loading or after hour penalties for permanent full time/part time staff members commensurate with experience. Sign on and retention bonus' on offer for the right candidates.

4 weeks annual leave and paid parental leave for permanent FT/PT staff members.

Permanent FT/PT staff members have access to an extensive internal continuing education platform, along with $2,500 to go towards it, which includes webinars and workshops, as well as professional memberships and subscriptions to a range of other resources. You'll also have the opportunity to participate in rounds with our specialist departments, journal club, and M&M rounds.

A variety of shifts ranging from evenings, overnights, weekends and public holidays PLUS accommodation for anyone coming from outside of the ACT.

Qualifications About Your Skills & Experience Must hold a veterinary degree available for registration in the ACT Preferably 2+ years' post-graduate experience. Emergency experience is highly desirable, however not essential as long as you're willing to learn! New and recent graduates with a strong interest in emergency will be considered.
