Matthew C. Smith Racing is currently seeking highly experienced and capable staff to join our stable at Warwick Farm. The positions are full-time 38 Hrs with early morning starts and require a person to work weekends on a roster.Assistant Young Horse Trainer/Rider - able to ride 8 -10 horses per morning with proven ability to ride pace/timed work and jump outs.Young Horse Educator- able to educate our young horses on the ground with ability to manage a small team of horses and staff under the direction of the head foreperson.The salary for both positions will be above award - in the range of $70,000 per annum depending upon the level of skill.Essential Skills:All applicants must have a minimum of 3 year full time professional experience in the role and be able to prove they are reliable workers with excellent horsemanship skills. In addition the following will be required:Demonstrated knowledge and proven experience in horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbred racingProven ability to train and educate young horsesA vocational level of English to be able to communicate in the work place and take instructionDesirable Qualification:A Certificate III or equivalent International qualification.Referees essential.
