Who are we looking for?

We're looking for a Technical Lead - Simulation and Decision Science to join our Freight Systems and Simulation team with a focus on analysis of models and operational concepts in infrastructure, mining and government sectors. This role will be the technical focus for clients and the simulation team on a wide variety strategic applications influencing C-suite decision making and providing lasting community benefit. This role can be either full-time or part-time and located in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney or Perth.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

Development of thorough scenario analysis to assess different dynamics of operational models to provide insights for C-suite decision-making.

Applying deep analytical techniques to develop conceptual operating models that consider many variables, constraints and objectives.

Data gathering and analysis, which may include trade, performance, infrastructure and cost data, to identify trends and opportunities for improvement and/or development.

The development of strategic infrastructure plans and influencing decision making by the application of a commercial focus to achieve project objectives.

Collaborating closely with clients to understand their unique challenges, requirements and objectives to determine appropriate solutions.

Mentoring and developing Advisors of the simulation team and collaborating with technical specialists across GHD to provide excellent customer experience.

What you will bring to the team:

Degree Qualification in Economics, Commerce, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline. Post graduate qualifications will be highly desirable.

Experience synthesizing complex analytics, developing easy to interpret reports and dashboards that evaluate performance and influence strategic decisions.

Experience with discrete event simulation software, eg: AnyLogic, Simio.

Advanced programming skills in at least one programming language; eg Python.

Strong project management and communication skills.

Deep understanding of business operational models in a variety of infrastructure environments.

High-level client relationship management skills coupled with the ability to identify and drive new pursuits and develop new business.

An ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a virtual office environment with team members globally.

MS Excel skills to macro and Visual Basic level.
