The RoleGWEO HQ Contractor Workforce team are looking for a highly motivated Contract Management Officer with excellent interpersonal skills who enjoys working as part of a dedicated and dynamic team. In our organisation, this position will lead a team of APS 5 Contract Officer(s) to deliver the contracting support services that sit across the GWEO Group. Within the Contract Management function, an APS 6 Contract Management Officer is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex contract management work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements. The APS 6 Contract Management Officer will work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of their work. They will exercise both initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures. They will provide detailed contract management technical, professional and policy advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, procurement, and policy development. The APS 6 Contract Management Officer will have a considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex or difficult issues. They will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholder's needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development. There may be some domestic business travel associated with this position.About our TeamThe Workforce Management Directorate is an integral part of GWEO Group Head Quarters that provides workforce support to Delivery Division and Capability Development Division that make up GWEO Group. Our team is a flexible group of contract and procurement personnel that assist in providing contractors from various disciplines (including engineering, project management, commercial, logistics, and corporate enabling services) across GWEO Group. This will be in addition to the agreed substantive salary on commencement. BDCPs are subject to regular reviews and may be ceased or varied at any time in accordance with Defence Policy. The additional payment is a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP) which enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the rate of salary otherwise payable under the Enterprise Agreement (EA) to some or all of the jobs within a critical occupation(s) or discipline within a workplace. BDCPs provide remuneration in addition to the Defence Enterprise Agreement (EA). This arrangement is subject to meeting eligibility criteria and is subject to annual review. Should your performance fall beyond requirements or the eligibility criteria not be met, your eligibility for the BDCP may be reviewed and ceased. It may also be ceased should you change positions or the requirement for the BDCP is no longer necessary, as determined by Defence. Should the BDCP be ceased you will be advised.
