As Deputy Head, Learning Programs, you will design, deliver and evaluate all learning content for school students as part of the Museums and Collections Learning Experiences program based at Science Gallery Melbourne and STEM Center for Excellence.

You'll oversee and provide advice to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) programs at Science Gallery Melbourne, Buxton Contemporary Gallery, Ian Potter Museum and Old Quad.

With a focus on STEAM curriculum outcomes, the objectives of the Learning Experiences Program are to Inspire and engage students in the study of STEAM and to improve teacher confidence in teaching STEAM and applying STEAM to real-world concepts.

Your responsibilities will include:

Designing technology-rich, curriculum aligned STEAM learning programs and resources for secondary students.Leading the development and design of teacher professional development programs for staff, partner schools, and schoolcommunitiesTeaching and facilitating curriculum programs to students on-site, off-site and virtuallyBuilding and maintaining strategic relationships, alliances and partnerships with secondary schools, local industries, and key stakeholders to enhance content and delivery strategiesEvaluating the impact of learning programs with responsibilities for reporting.Who we are looking for

You will also have:

Current VIT Teacher registration with a minimum of 5 years teaching experienceVocational, Graduate or Bachelor level qualifications (or higher) in any of Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Engineering, Arts or Technology disciplinesDetailed experience and knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum and Australian CurriculumProven experience in developing innovative STEAM programs including program design and curriculum materials, in a school environmentApplicants with any of the below are strongly encouraged to apply: Expertise working with a range of technologies.Experience in a tertiary environment.Expertise with Deaf and hard-of-hearing students.Industry experience outside of the classroom.For further information regarding responsibilities and requirements please refer to the attached PD.
