Our letters and parcels business has an important and evolving part to play in providing consumers and businesses with a safe, easy, and efficient service. In this position, you'll be in amongst the action, working with the cutting-edge technology that makes it all possible. We are looking for a highly motivated Engineering Lead.

About the role The Engineering Lead is instrumental in the execution of the real-time production plan, in collaboration with our operational teams and will manage a team of subject matter experts to optimise automation reliability and performance to meet operational requirements.

They will also facilitate knowledge transfer from the third-party vendors to Australia Post support teams and conduct automation improvement activities, across all automated processing sites.

This role will adapt and align against business changes to meet and exceed customer expectations, with future growth expanding across multiple processing sites. The Engineering Lead may be based at one or all of these sites.

The Engineering Lead will work with all shifts and may need to provide coverage across various shifts as required.

You'll Also • Set expectations, establishing operating rhythms and holding teams to account while prioritising recognition of their contributions.

• Ensure teams have the information, skills, and experience to do their job, while supporting them to achieve their career and development goals.

• Lead a culture within the function that fosters a focus on safety & wellbeing and puts the customer at the forefront of all activities and decisions.

• Address workplace changes, incidents, and conflicts in a timely, consultative manner.

• Provide specialist support for all urgent fault resolutions across the network, including root cause analysis and defect elimination as required.

• Develop, recommend, and review the maintenance policy, procedures, plans and other instructions for effectiveness.

• Provide expert advice and input into the development and review of equipment support plans, technical documentation, and other data.

• Conduct defect investigations to determine failure causes and appropriate corrective actions, including data analysis and formal reports as required.

• Design and develop test, inspection, calibration, or other maintenance procedures as required.

• Other technical and project duties as directed.

About you We're looking for candidates that have strong experience in engineering and continuous improvement. Those that are motivated and able to bring the best out of people under their leadership.

You'll also have • Engineering/Trade Qualifications and relevant experience.

• Experience in continuous improvement processes such as Lean, including root cause analysis and problem solving.

• Proven background collaborating with senior stakeholders.

• An ability to undertake highly specialised maintenance support and related activities, including the application of maintenance principles and practices in an operational environment.

• Demonstrated experience applying high level effectiveness in the areas of customer service, cost analysis and maximising business benefit.

• Experience in asset reliability and engineering change management.

Highly Desirable • Diploma / Degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering or equivalent (or progression towards completion)

• Diploma / Degree in Business (Frontline Management) or equivalent (or progression towards completion)
