About the Role *This is a Fixed Term Position until March 2025* Join us as a Commercial Manager where you'll lead governance, project management, and provide strategic advice across complex matters. You'll collaborate with stakeholders, manage project workstreams, develop commercial options, engage with industry partners, oversee procurement, and lead governance processes. Your role will be pivotal in delivering high-value projects within a dynamic commercial environment.

Key elements of the role include developing project and commercial options, engaging with industry to inform commercial strategies, project management, procurement, and management of external advisers (including technical, legal, and commercial), reporting, leading, and managing governance processes, and general commercial advice.

The role will work in multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex, high value projects within a commercial context.

Position Outcomes / Accountabilities

We are seeking a dynamic individual to support the development of commercial strategies and options by gathering and analysing information from various sources. You'll be responsible for preparing project documentation and advice, including submissions to government and stakeholder briefings, on complex commercial and policy matters. Stakeholders should perceive your analysis and advice as comprehensive and supportive of successful outcomes. You'll also assist in identifying and resolving project and strategic issues, contribute to achieving value for money outcomes, and promote safe, inclusive, and flexible team operations. Key Selection Criteria • Project Delivery- Translates strategies into programs or projects that enables achievement of outcomes required. Defines governance e.g., success measures, roles and responsibilities, progress monitoring required to manage risks and maximise probability of success.

• Business and Commercial Acumen- Defines and maximises value add and/or return of investment in business cases, contract terms, or service delivery agreements. Uses broad understanding of procurement and finance concepts to inform expenditure decisions and manage risks.

• Interpersonal Skills- Detects the underlying concerns, interests or emotions that lie behinds what is being said and done. Presents as genuine and sincere when dealing with others. Projects an objective view of another's opinion. Uses understanding of individuals to get the best outcomes for the person and the organisation.

• Stakeholder Management- Identifies issues in common for one or more clients or stakeholders and uses them to build mutually beneficial partnerships. Identifies and responds to stakeholders underlying needs. Uses understanding of the stakeholder's organisational context to ensure outcomes are achieved.

• Critical Thinking & Problem Solving- Resolves issues through deep understanding or interpretation of existing guidelines. Where guidelines are not available, analyses ideas available and takes action through self, or in consultation with others to resolve problems. If required, determine additional information needed to make informed decisions. Applies critical thinking and problem-solving concepts in the right context.

Qualifications and Experience

Desirable

• At least 3 years of professional experience in a relevant commercial transaction setting.

• Experience working within a State or Federal Government.
