Essence of the roleThe role of Head of Business Development and Performance works within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare. The two key foci of the role are to:

Advise on business development opportunities within the HammondCare Health portfolio, consistent with the organisation's approach to strategic planning and in line with HammondCare's future strategy. This may include remediation of HammondCare's current services and the commissioning of new services.

Work with the Executive of HammondCare Health and Palliative Care to establish and monitor business performance metrics and procedures that will promote business process improvement and enhanced productivity, within the framework of the provision of high-quality clinical care.Reporting to the GM - HammondCare Health and Palliative Care, the Head of Business Development and Performance will create strong linkages with managers within the Health portfolio, while also working closely with HammondCare's Enabling services to achieve success in the role. The incumbent will also be expected to identify and support the development of broader cross-organisational initiatives that leverage HammondCare's expertise, geographical footprint, reputation and standing within the health and aged care sectors.

This role requires the incumbent to combine a good understanding of HammondCare's Mission and Mission in Action and future strategic plans for the development of HammondCare's Services with strong project and business management skills. Business acumen, writing ability, a determination to initiate, direct and drive change and strong relationship-building skills are also important to the success of the role.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the service offerings of HammondCare Health and Palliative Care, including the market opportunity that presents.Maintain current knowledge of important legislative changes that will impact the delivery of health and aged care services and develop strategies that will allow HammondCare services to pivot when needed to accommodate and leverage these changes.Work with key clinical leaders and managers within HammondCare Health and Palliative Care to streamline how clinical services are delivered, with the primary focus of this role being performance and productivity.Develop specific business performance measures, including measures of efficiency and financial performance, and develop these measures into dashboard indicators able to be used by managers and clinicians to drive business process improvements.Provide timely financial reporting of team performance and productivity in a way that supports key decision-making in a way that balances both service quality and productivity.Be at the forefront of understanding how client management and financial systems can be better integrated in ways that support management and clinicians to use data and develop and derive reports more effectively.Work with the Executive of HammondCare Health and Palliative Care to identify new business opportunities that are aligned with HammondCare's strategy.Participate in the business planning process for the development of new/enhanced services, and actively work with management and clinicians to implement, monitor and evaluate new/enhanced services.Work effectively with HammondCare's Enabling Services, especially Finance, ICT, People Services and Marketing.Work effectively with other business units within HammondCare, especially HammondCare At Home and Residential services, looking for opportunities for collaboration, and leveraging HammondCare's expertise, geographical footprint, reputation and standing within the health and aged care sectors.Essential/Mandatory Skills and Experience

Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare's Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in ActionTertiary qualifications in a business or related discipline, including accounting and/or finance and/or management.A strong financial/commercial background and a solid understanding of business process improvement methodologies.Proven ability to understand and develop key business performance measures.Prior experience in commercial roles within the health and/or aged care sectors and/or roles that involved the management and coordination of teams operating in the field.High-level communication and interpersonal skills and a capacity to engage with senior management and clinical staff, as well as senior executives.Significant practical experience in managing projects and leading change.Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, MS ProjectExcellent writing and analytical skills with highly developed attention to detail.Displays initiative and a service-minded attitude.Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong relationship-building skills, empathy and conflict-resolution skills.Strong planning, negotiation and organising skills.HammondCare is a NSW Health-affiliated organisation, all NSW Health transferrable entitlements will be recognised.
