We are seeking an experienced and professional General Manager to join our team and oversee our day-to-day operations, with a strong focus on community engagement, liquor compliance, staff management, and operational development.

The Duke is part of Odd Culture; sitting amongst a range of eclectic venues across the Group which empower and promote inclusive hospitality experiences for people and communities of all kinds.

Job Responsibilities: Ensure strict adherence to all applicable liquor laws, regulations, and licensing requirements, particularly during late-night trading hours. Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote responsible service of alcohol and minimise any potential issues related to late-night trading.Monitor and manage inventory, including stock control, ordering, and stock rotation, to ensure the integrity and accuracy of stock on hand.Work with the Group Ops Experience manager to understand our approach to ATL and guest engagement while administering RSA.Guest Experiences: Foster an energetic and engaging atmosphere for guests during late-night hours, ensuring their enjoyment and satisfaction.Participate in the development and execution of thrilling live music programs and events specifically tailored for late-night trade.Actively engage with customers, promptly address any concerns or feedback, and ensure a positive guest experience throughout the night.Uphold high standards of cleanliness, safety, and comfort, maintaining a vibrant environment.Take pride in venue presentation and follow all venue configuration SOPsMaintain industry-leading guest satisfaction KPIsStaff Management: Recruit, train, and develop a talented team of bartenders, waitstaff, and other support staff who are capable of handling late-night trade.Understand the nuances of effective rostering and wage control in a live music venue.Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations to enhance staff performance and maintain high service standards.Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and motivation, even during late-night shifts.Lead by example and respect professional boundaries. We are looking for mature and compassionate leaders.Operational Management Monitor financial performance, budgets, and expenses, taking proactive measures to achieve financial targets.Understand and achieve weekly KPI targets set by senior management. This requires un understanding of wage cost, COGS, guest satisfaction metrics, SOP completion, EBITDA, and projected vs actual relationships.Collaborate with the HQ team to promote the venue and attract a diverse customer base specifically interested in late-night live music experiences.Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities, ensuring the venue remains a leading late-night music venue in Sydney.Adhere to and build on all existing SOPs and processesQualifications and Requirements: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar management role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a late-night live music-focused bar or venue.A proven track record of adhering to KPIs and hitting designated targetsIn-depth knowledge of liquor laws, responsible service of alcohol, and health and safety regulations, particularly concerning late-night trade.Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in staff management and development, including managing late-night shifts and staff rostering.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with customers, staff, and stakeholders effectively.Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.Know how to work a problem until it's resolved, the buck will stop with you.Knowledge of financial management, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue optimization, considering the unique dynamics of late-night operations.A passion for live music and a strong understanding of the local music scene in Sydney.#J-18808-Ljbffr
