Job Description The Australian Financial Review is seeking a Desk Editor on a full-time basis to join its print and digital production team.

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated team player with a passion for words and meeting deadlines under pressure. Newsroom experience is a must. A strong interest in and understanding of business and good general knowledge of current affairs is preferred.

You will have experience in sub-editing and production in a way that best suits each platform. The role may involve morning, afternoon and evening hours as well as some weekend work, and can be full-time or part-time. Experience in digital production would be an advantage.

Day to day you will: Edit, produceand publishstories for each platform, be it digital, print, blogs, or newsletters Producestories for afr.comand other channels, including finding photos, graphics, videos, and social media assets Writeand checkheadlines, captions and write-offs Proofread Workwith reporters to edit and rewrite copy to the highest standards Communicatewith reporters, editors and other production staff Qualifications What we would like to see

Experience in content management systems, optimising stories for digital readers, photo handling and Google suite is preferred but some training will be available. Ability to work quickly and accurately, have a keen eye for detail and be a team player. There may be opportunities for the successful candidate to step into more senior editing roles..
