About the Role As alocum you will be paid to travel Australia and will get the opportunity to see and experience every state! Your accommodationand travel expenses will be paid for by us along with a daily meal allowance. Our locum arrangements are casual and therefore this opportunity is best suited for those looking to supplement their part-time or flexible employment, enjoy travelling or want to further build on their already extensive experience!

In this role you will work as a part of a multidisciplinary team within a health centre setting supporting the diverse mental health needs of military members. Referrals will come from a variety of sources; the member, medical team and Command, offering diversity in presentations and support requests. The support you will offer begins with initial intake and assessment with flexibility to accommodate presenting need. There is scope for the use of psychometrics and engagement in treatment that capitalises on your skills, interests and scope of practice. You will have autonomy to manage your caseload including oversight and case management of externally referred cases and the provision of internal treatment to Defence members. Additionally, your management of crisis presentations, risk assessment and risk management planning is supported within a multi-disciplinary team.

To be successful in this role, you will have: The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Minimum 2 years post graduate experience in the last 5 years in mental health in a primary health or specialist mental health setting undertaking comprehensive mental health assessmentand delivering a range of evidence based 'Focussed Psychological Strategies' as defined under the Medicare Schedule.Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.Knowledge of relevant State/Territory policies and procedures and national standards governing mental health practice (desirable).Knowledge of the ADF Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2018-2023 (desirable).About You You are a passionate and dedicated mental health professional who is committed to providing the highest quality healthcare to those in need. With excellent communication and listening skills, you take pride in your ability to make your patients feel comfortable and safe in your hands. You are empathetic and compassionate and understand the importance of this in making a difference to those in need of mental health services.
