About the Role The Category Manager is a member of the Category Management team, whose role is to partner with business stakeholders and suppliers to deliver improved patient care, through reduced Total Cost of Ownership, innovation in service delivery and a sustainable supply chain. The Category Manager develops long-term strategies and implementation plans for assigned categories in close collaboration with key stakeholders, including business strategies, demand & forecast analysis, risk assessment, ESG strategy, supplier landscape and market assessment. He/she utilises the various strategic sourcing levers at her/his disposal to implement these plans, that ultimately deliver long term sustainable value.

As Category Manager, you will have the ability to develop and implement strategic sourcing programs across the core spend categories. The Category Manager has an excellent grasp on the market, cost drivers, supply chain and expenditure, which she/he uses to develop deep category insights to inform mature category strategies that drive sustainable commercial outcomes and mitigate supply and contract risk. He/she will be managing projects and working in close collaboration with the Senior Category Managers and Sourcing Specialists across the assigned categories.

About You Qualifications/registrations/licences:

A relevant tertiary qualification in business or a technical fieldMembership of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply or other equivalent professional body (Associate or above)Sound understanding of procurement and supply chain principles and business financialsTechnical skills/knowledge/experience:

Minimum of 3 years' experience in Category Management developing strategies across multiple categories and guiding and leading stakeholders including procurement sourcing specialists.Demonstrated track record in negotiation design sourcing goods and services across multiple categories and delivering substantial and sustainable commercial savings.Ability to develop sourcing strategies for high value and complex projects in close collaboration with the business based on sound analytics, including business requirement and demand analysis, forecast, risk assessment, ESG opportunities, market conditions and supplier landscape, innovation scouting.Capability to author high quality procurement plans, business reports and other decision-making documentation.Experience in developing high quality RFX documentation and managing tenders with appropriate consideration given to probity, commercial and functional outcomes.Analytical and conceptual skills, with particular experience in assessment of complex financial and non-financial elements and total value.Demonstrable experience in project management, prioritisation and organisation skills including the ability to work unsupervised on multiple projects.Experience in consultation, negotiation and customer relationship management skills.Experience in leading, guiding, persuading and consulting with internal stakeholders.Capabilities: Focuses on developing positive inter-professional relationships within the team and in working towards common goals.Collaborates with team members to look for alternative approaches and determine viable solutions.Negotiates agreed actions to deal with the issue/s.Considers individual reactions and perspectives when seeking solutions.Acknowledge the importance of the issue, avoiding disputes over petty details.How to Apply Monash Health recognises the value of equal employment opportunity and is committed to patient safety and promoting fairness, equity, and diversity in the workplace.
