Who are we? Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) is the largest regional health service between Sydney and Melbourne, located in the twin cities of Albury and Wodonga. Our dedicated team of nearly 3,000 staff supports a population of 250,000 people throughout North-East Victoria and Southern NSW. AWH is a dynamic organisation undergoing significant growth, including the development of new state of the art Emergency and Mental Health facilities. The Opportunity The Co-Director of Rural Training will work to attract, enhance, and deliver rural psychiatry training experiences for Victorian trainees. They will work closely with the current Rural Director of Training, to support Victorian rural health services to create a network of training pathways in rural Victoria, and with links throughout Australia. The position is funded through Albury Wodonga Health, the successful applicant is envisaged to be working remotely from this site, and with strong links to a rural health service in Victoria. The Rural Directors of Training will be supported by a central administrative office at Albury Wodonga Health. The Co-Director of Rural Training will be working with the current Rural Director of Training, the Victorian Psychiatry Training Committee and in step with the RANZCP commitment to implement the Rural Psychiatry Roadmap 2021-31. The Roadmap will establish dedicated and sustainable regional, rural, and remote training pathways to Fellowship, and help to address the current disparity in mental health outcomes for the large and diverse population of Victorians who live outside urban centres.
