Senior Test Engineer

Job Overview Summary:Spirent is seeking a PV Engineer to work as part of our Assurance value stream R&D team within the ATA BU. The ideal candidate will be a highly talented professional who enjoys collaborating with other engineers and product owners following the Agile/SCRUM development process. The position includes validation of the design, implementation, and verification of new features in the software products of the Spirent VisionWorks solution. The VisionWorks Classic Controller is an OSS offering which provides administration of users, test equipment and testing of services in the live network.Job Responsibilities:Continuous striving to increase understanding of the full Classic Controller (T&D and PM) product. Develop, maintain, and execute testplans and testcases for both regression (legacy) and new feature functionality. Provide automation solutions using an existing testing framework and/or develop new ones with extra attention to code maintainability and proper code reuse. Relevant to skillsets, must act as team lead and mentor for less experienced team members. Work closely with domain engineers to verify understanding of requirements, review solution implementation options and help flesh out Jira Stories/Tasks. Communicate bugs effectively and document via Jira. Ability to identify risks associated with product features and estimate effort. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to adjust the messaging based on the audience.Job Requirement:Education qualification of BE/BTec/MTech/MS/MCA 5+ to 12 Yrs of Experience in both Manuel and Automation testing(60/40) Experience with the following to assist in identifying and documenting bugs: Python Perl SQL Experience with Cucumber using Gherkin for testplan creation, updates and maintenance.Expert level Linux experience.Applied knowledge in an iterative development environment employing Agile/Scrum/XP combined with DevOps exposure.Desired Skills: Understanding of SQLGeneral experience with any one of HTTP/HTTPS, SFTP, FTP, NFS, SMB, SMTP, SSH, NTP and TCP/IP, Internet Security, encryption.
