As an Editorial Team Leader, you'll be responsible for:

  • Develop a 30/70 working split : Spend roughly 30% of your time on writing, 70% of your time on editing, people team management, and taking the lead on projects
  • Writing and editing: Maintain a high level of content writing and editing. Collaborate with your managing editor on updates and additions to the Style Guide
  • Team communication: Come prepared to the editorial team meeting with your updates, and blockers. Do the same for your manager 1:1s. Highlight your achievements, workload, and AOB
  • Housekeeping: Make sure your calendar is up to date with any OOO appointments and your OOO is set up on Slack and email
  • Proactive problem solving: Look to see how you can take the initiative to get problems ironed out before escalating
  • Understand if your content is working or not: Be empowered to find out for yourself what is and what isn’t working – find the right people to ask and start keeping track of how well your content is performing.
  • Lead one big project per quarter: Before the quarter, define the project you’d like to work on, set KPIs for it, and get buy-in from your team leader, i.e. your managing editor
  • Help develop the people within your team: Give them regular feedback on their work and aim to any questions they may have. Brief and help manage freelancers.
  • Support your team on their projects : They should have 1 big project x3 a year. Work with your team to understand what projects they’d like to focus on

What will make us choose you?

  • The ideal candidate will be someone who has 3+ years of writing and editing experience.
  • Passionate about helping travelers navigate the world with as little hassle as possible.
  • Able to use project management tools, such as ClickUp. And be well-versed with Google Doc.
