PRIMARY OBJECTIVES OF POSITION:To Boldly build what is next. Be part of the inventory planning function transformation at Northern Tool, serving millions of customers across our Retail and Online channels, to provide a seamless customer experience.The inventory planning lead at our India location will bring in the best talent and produce quality deliverables working with the supply chain leadership team to drive efficiencies, enhance capability and optimize delivery across inventory planning processes.MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:Manage, coach, and lead inventory (consisting of inventory planners and data analytics) team members to execute and deliver Northern Tool + Equipments inventory strategy.Analyze, optimize, and implement inventory buying processes to align with goals and objectives.Determine execution approaches and develop monitoring tools and techniques (reports and KPIs) to track current performance, trends, and proactive issue identification and mitigation.Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve team efficiencies, drive inventory reduction, and implement cost avoidance strategies, while managing financial targets to ensure efficient product flow, inventory health, and high level of in stocks for all sales channels.Works with merchandising team members to plan inventory needs versus sales forecasts.Tracks performance in key areas of responsibility using E3 and JD Edwards reporting tools.Reaches minimum requirements on inventory management as tracked in monthly areas of forecasting accuracy, mail order fill rate, retail transfer fill rate, service level goal attainment and inventory accuracy.Works with cross functional teams to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain.Demonstrate model Northern Tools core values and competencies.Effectively communicate with the team to ensure alignment and accountability; foster an environment and culture of continuous improvement.Devise and implement team member development and performance plans and ensure core job competencies and training plans are being executed.Keeps supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems and related information necessary for effective management.Coordinates and communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.Performs related work as appropriate or assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Bachelor's degree or equivalent in merchandising or related field.3-5 years of related purchasing/inventory management experience.Knowledge of hard line tools and equipment.Strong organizational skills are required.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.Solid PC skills, spreadsheet development abilities and working knowledge of designated software packages.E3 experience with silver level certification or greater.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide variety of company and vendor personnel.Demonstrates Northern Tool + Equipments 12 Core Competencies.
