We have been hiring for an Agri-Tech startup formed through a joint venture between Temasek, Wavemaker Impact, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, GenZero to decarbonize rice cultivation in Asia. It is building a platform to identify and implement the most effective strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in rice cultivation, and the right economic incentives across the value chain to drive the adoption of sustainable cultivation techniques. Location- BangaloreExperience Bracket- 6 to 12 YearsLegal ManagerPosition Overview: We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Legal Manager to oversee our legal affairs and provide strategic legal guidance to our organization. The Legal Manager will be responsible for managing all legal activities, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and mitigating legal risks in Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and India. This position requires a highly skilled professional with excellent legal expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and exceptional communication skills. This position will be based out of Bangalore, India. Responsibilities:Provide legal advice and guidance to management and employees on a wide range of legal matters, including contracts, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, litigation, and risk management.Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents, ensuring they accurately reflect the organization's interests and comply with legal requirements.Conduct legal research and analysis to stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations affecting the organization and provide recommendations for compliance.Coordinate and manage legal proceedings, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation, and represent the organization in legal disputes when necessary.Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management, departments, and cross-functional teams, to address legal issues and support business objectives.Ensure the organization's intellectual property rights are protected through appropriate legal measures, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents.Maintain accurate and up-to-date legal documentation, records, and databases, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection laws.Represent the organization in meetings, negotiations, and interactions with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in law, Juris Doctor (JD), or equivalent legal qualification. Master's degree in law or LLM preferred.Strong understanding and experience in SEA marketsExperience in carbon and ESG legalities is an added advantageAdmitted to practice law in the jurisdiction where the organization operates. Membership in the local bar association is required. PRB
