Senior Manager Global Sourcing

Job Title: Senior Manager, Global SourcingJob Summary:We seek an experienced and proactive Senior Manager of Global Sourcing to lead our global sourcing initiatives. This is a critical role designed to support our product development and merchant teams by identifying, evaluating, and managing vendor relationships for manufacturing our products. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye and experience in negotiation, quality control, and a strategic approach to sourcing to avoid over-dependency on any single vendor or country. This role involves developing new tools and systems to streamline the sourcing process, ensuring ethical practices, and managing foreign exchange risks. The Senior Manager will play a key role in forming sourcing strategies, traveling extensively to ensure compliance and sustainability in our supply chain, and leading a team towards achieving our sourcing objectives.Key Responsibilities:Identify and evaluate potential vendors domestically and internationally to manufacture products according to the requirements of the product development and design teams.Negotiate with and monitor vendors on prices, quality, delivery timelines, and payment terms to ensure the best outcomes for the company.Oversee quality control and assurance, implementing robust systems to maintain high product standards.Manage the logistics of the goods, considering trade agreements, tariffs, and government schemes to ensure the best outcomes for the company.Develop and implement tools and systems to effectively manage global sourcing activities.Formulate sourcing strategies to minimize risks related to vendor concentration and geopolitical issues.Manage foreign exchange risk, including determining appropriate exchange rates and engaging in futures contracts as necessary.Ensure all sourcing activities are conducted ethically, including establishing policies to prevent corruption and ensure social compliance in the supply chain.Conduct audits and ensure compliance with global social standards, preventing engagement with child labor, forced labor, etc.Mentor, guide, and train a team dedicated to global sourcing, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and ethical practice.Skills Needed:Strong negotiation skills and a deep understanding of global trade agreements, tariffs, freights, and government schemes.Experience managing foreign exchange risk and familiarity with international trade finance instruments.Knowledge of social compliance and ethical standards in global sourcing, with experience conducting audits and ensuring vendor compliance.Excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a team.Willingness and ability to travel extensively both domestically and internationally.Strong analytical skills and proficiency in developing new tools and systems for effective sourcing management.
