Intermediate/Senior Civil Engineer Position at GEMTEC

Due to our recent growth and expansion, GEMTEC is actively seeking an Intermediate/Senior Civil Engineer for our Mount Pearl, NL office. The position provides the opportunity to support and grow the existing Engineering Team within our Mount Pearl, NL office. You will work with a team of engineers, as well as geoscientists, hydrogeologists, environmental scientists, and technicians, on a variety of projects in support of mine development and other civil-based projects. The successful candidate will support all GEMTEC office locations, travelling as needed.Qualifications and Experience:Completion of a recognized bachelor's degree in civil engineering, preferably with a major in municipal and/or transportation engineering.Currently licensed to practice or eligible for registration with PEGNL (P.Eng.).Minimum 5+ years of relevant NL local civil engineering design and project management experience (preferably in consulting) with demonstrated field experience preferred. Candidates with less years of experience are also encouraged to apply.Able to work both independently and in team settings.Strong analytical, technical writing and organizational skills.Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2018 (or newer version) in addition to ArchGIS and/or QGIS software platforms would be considered an asset, as would experience with hydraulic modeling software suites.Roles and Responsibilities:Manage civil engineering projects (municipal and transportation infrastructure, commercial and residential subdivision land development, site grading and mass detailed site earthworks, underground services, marine civil engineering design and construction, etc.).Preparation of stamped engineering drawings, Quality Assurance/Control specifications and quantity estimates issued for tender and construction project administration.Storm water modelling and management civil design.Organizing/carrying out construction quantity surveying / field inspections.Client acquisition and retention.Proposal writing and project management.Participating in the implementation and adaptation of existing Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards, and Guidelines in the execution of all project work.Acting in support of other GEMTEC offices when needed to complete projects.Performing other related duties as required.Position:
