Events & Community Coordinator

Actively seeks feedback and proactively communicates to cultivate a positive, productive and solution-focused work environment.Must be a flexible and a creative problem solverMust be Cape-Town basedWillingness to travel as and when required mostly within the greater Cape Town area, and occasionally other major South African cities.Smart phone with internet access.Proficiency in the Google Suite Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, as well as CANVAExperience working in a non-profit environment or in a field relating to veganism, health, environment, animal rights/welfare or foodFluent in additional official South African languagesExperience with Wordpress, MailChimp or other mass-emailing platformsKnowledge of the South African vegan-vegetarian scene and global veg-trends Corporate experience, especially with the food and plant-based food sectorExperience with fundraisingThe successful candidate will be responsible for all logistical elements of our events and activations, managing our volunteers and helping to grow our online community. The types of events will vary, and could include plant-based sampling activations, corporate wellness days, film screenings, product launches, focus groups, volunteer training etc. Team management is very important as the successful candidate will be responsible for managing our volunteer network and ensuring that volunteers enjoy being part of our events. Social media experience will be an integral part of this role and will be used to advertise events, highlight the events and activations we host, and inspire our online community.
