IT Business Analyst Client: Insurance Role: IT Business Analyst Role Type: Contract - 6 Months Salary/Rate: Open to discuss.Location: Toronto (Hybrid)Our insurance client is looking to hire a IT Business Analyst, on a 6-month contract, to join their team.Your New RoleResearch, analyse and document clear Functional Specifications, Use Cases, and describe complex business situations.Contribute to the development of functional solutions to address simple to highly complex business needs that may cross various technologies, applications, and functional areas.Work with development and confirm delivered solutions meet the business needs. Carry out complex work assignments with general direction from the leader and work independently to meet needs of the project and timelines.Manage small system enhancements from inception to completion. Actively participate or lead data gathering workshops to support the needs of Application Architects and Developers. Liaise with the technical designers during the Design and Development stages.Create and/or review test strategies.Assist the business and project managers to resolve change management issues.Provide business analysis support during functional and integrated testing of the applications.Assist team in preparing estimates on impact analysis, development, and testing for proposed application.What You'll Need to SucceedMinimum 5 years of hands-on IT or systems business analyst experience with strong BA practices and standards. Strong IT requirements analysis and elicitation skillsExperience with P&C insurance, P&C Accounting, and regulatory reporting.Experience with or understanding of Underwriting concepts, Claims adjusting concepts, Reinsurance concepts.Experience with SQL and data analysis.Solid understanding of system development life cycle.Superior problem solving and analytical skills.Superior documentation and communication skills.Organizational skills: Proactive mind set, able to prioritize work and meet deadlines.Self starter and effective team player.AssetsDeveloper backgroundExperience with ERP Oracle Cloud finance modules.Confluence & Jira knowledgeCBAP, IIBA member or other BA designation certification.Scrum Master or experience with Agile methodologies.Practical experience with or within a Finance department in Billing, AR/AP, and General Ledger functions. Practical experience with or knowledge of preparing financial statements, P&C -1 in the specific reporting areas of premiums, claims and reinsurance.Knowledge of or experience working with IFRS 17 requirements.University degree, College diploma and/or Certifications in a related discipline or equivalent training and work experience.What You'll Get in ReturnYou will be working with smart, passionate, and dedicated new team members.
