Job Title: Quality Assurance SpecialistReports to: Quality Assurance ManagerLocation: Scarborough, OntarioOn-Site rolePosition Summary:Our Client is a rapidly growing food manufacturing company based in Scarborough, Ontario. They are looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist to oversee all aspects of quality assurance processes, from raw material inspection to finished product testing. The ideal candidate will be critical in delivering high-quality products to customers while championing a Food Safety and compliance culture.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in a CFIA food manufacturing site, with specific expertise in third-party audits, HACCP, and PCQI certifications.Responsibilities:Work closely with the Quality Manager and Food Safety to develop and implement food safety programs, policies and procedures.Conduct regular quality inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.Coordinate and manage third-party audits, including preparation, documentation, and follow-up.Write, review and revise SOPs for various aspects of food manufacturing, including sanitation, hygiene, allergen control and equipment maintenance.Continuously implement, train and improve the HACCP Program, SOPs and processes.Provide training and support to production staff on quality control procedures and best practices.Investigate and address quality-related issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions as necessary.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure product quality and safety.Maintain accurate records and documentation related to quality assurance activities.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Specialist in food manufacturing.HACCP certification is required.PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) certification required.Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Experience with CFIA regulations and inspections preferred.
