If you are a detail-oriented professional with a passion for ensuring organizational excellence, we encourage you to apply.Reporting to the Director, Finance this position is responsible for assisting with the monthly payment process of the project contract for the Surrey Langley SkyTrain, as well as verifying contract compliance associated with project contractor monthly invoices and ensuring adherence to TI Corp's internal procedures, Key Accountabilities:Payment Process:Working with other members of the project team, review and provide comments associated with monthly payment invoice review.Working with other members of the project team, review and provide comments associated with monthly payment reconciliation process.Provide recommendations to optimize monthly payment procedures.Undertake other financial related tasks under the guidance of the Executive Director, Infrastructure Finance and Senior Manager, Infrastructure Finance.Contract Compliance:Develop internal audit plan and schedule to ensure timely completion of monthly audits.Review payment terms and conditions of the Project Agreement and subcontract agreements to ensure compliance of the monthly payment applications of Project Contractor. Audit a subset of monthly invoices from construction contractor to ensure compliance against project agreement contractual payment terms. After invoice approval, assist with timely payment process to ensure Province's obligations are met.Collaborate with legal, commercial, project controls, and finance departments as part of the monthly invoice reconciliation process.Assist with managing the external auditor's quarterly audits.Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate documentation of audit procedures, findings, and recommendations.Prepare clear and concise monthly audit reports detailing findings and recommendations for corrective action.Communicate audit findings and recommendations to the finance and commercial team leads.Track and follow up on implementation of audit recommendations.Process Improvement:Recommend and implement initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness of existing processes.Capture lessons learned from active responsibilities to enable future and concurrent projects to benefit from accumulated organisational experience.Develop and maintain effective professional relationships with adjacent and related departments to better understand their requirements.Maintain an open mind to tackling new potential challenges over the life of a project.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field. Minimum 3 years of similar experience in internal auditing or contract compliance roles.Experience working in construction or major infrastructure projects related organizations is an asset.Experience with reading commercial contracts. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends or anomalies.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically in Microsoft Excel with experience in generating professional-level analysis for users with varying degrees of financial acumen.Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Ability to exercise attention to details with a high degree of accuracy especially with dollar amounts.There are multiple payment processes which overlap with each other on a monthly basis, therefore the candidate must have a structured work ethic to prevent errors.
