Purchasing & Inventory Agent

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Purchasing & Inventory Agent, on behalf of our client, a local agriculture agency.The role of the Purchasing & Inventory Agent is to support procurement activities for the company's field operations by ensuring all materials and/or services are procured to drive maximum value, along with accurate timely control and reporting of Inventory levels.The Purchasing Agent is responsible for ensuring that all supply chain activities are executed with the highest standards of ethics and integrity and are in strict adherence to company policies. The role will report to the Safety, Environment & Inventory Coordinator.Primary Responsibilities:Manage the Purchase Order (PO) lifecycle from requisition to payment, including post-award PO administration, change orders, and invoice attestation.Collaborate closely with engineering, accounts payable, operations, and maintenance staff to procure materials and services.Monitor and control inventory levels, conducting cycle counts and inventory valuation periodically throughout the year.Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring they meet the company's standards and expediting orders as necessary.Coordinate shipping logistics to ensure on-time delivery, including arranging transportation, preparing shipping documents, and tracking shipments.Identify and negotiate cost savings opportunities to optimize procurement strategies.Ensure compliance with contracts and supply chain policies, providing guidance and support as needed.Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.Qualifications:Professional designation Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) or enrollment in a Supply Chain Management certification program, considered an asset.2+ years related work experience in Supply Chain Management;Related experience in Purchasing & Inventory Control for pipeline construction projects would be an asset;Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) 2020 is considered an asset. We can help you obtain this.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document control;Strong time management and organizational skills;Able to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision;Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Clean criminal record check and 5 year drivers abstract is a requirement.Previous experience in a field-based work environment is required;Able and willing to travel to field locations.
