The Canadian Mining Journal, along with the other media brands of The Northern Miner Group, was acquired by EarthLabs Inc. in December 2023 (https://earthlabs.com/news/), a move that will further broaden our distribution and disseminate valuable information to a growing audience. About the Role We are seeking an experienced Daily News Editor to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in keeping readers informed about the latest developments, trends, and events shaping the mining sector. You will source and curate relevant news stories, ensure timely and accurate coverage to keep our audience abreast of industry happenings. You are instrumental in maintaining the journal's reputation as a trusted source of information and in driving engagement with our audience. This is a contract/freelance position, remote. We'll trust you to... (Responsibilities) Write stories for the Canadian Mining Journal Daily Newsletter, incorporating additional research for added value.Post stories on One CMS, and WordPress.Prepare the Daily Newsletter for circulation.Create multiple posts daily on our social media channels.Prepare Sponsored Articles, JV Articles, and feature stories as required.Proofread and edit the monthly print edition.Assist our media partner - The Northern Miner with editorial tasks (approximately 20% of the time).Undertake additional ad hoc assignment and duties as assigned. You'll need to be/have... (Qualifications) Post-secondary education in journalism or a related field is a must.Experience demonstrated success in an editorial capacity is a must.Proficient knowledge of business journalism is a must.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.Posses experience with feature writing, editing, and knowledge with the production process is an asset.Strong organizational skill with the ability to strive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment is crucial.Proficiency with desktop publishing software including Adobe suite (ex.
