Part Time / Full Time Toys R Us Canada, proud to be Canadian owned and operated, has an opportunity for a full-time Distribution Centre Manager - Fulfilment on the day shift.Shift Times: Monday to Friday, 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.We want to bring on someone who values what we value- teamwork, excellence, authenticity, accountability and integrity. This is an opportunity for you to take on exciting responsibilities, build on your already strong skill set and help us achieve our goals, all in a work environment that is fast-paced, dynamic and fun.Responsibilities:Manage the day-to-day warehouse operational requirements for the business, while achieving effective and efficient service with a focus on quality, productivity, service, safety and loss prevention.Determine daily operational plan, set priorities, and assign team members as requiredOversight of all warehouse operations, including safety, quality, continuous improvement, and inventory control, as well as confirming loads and arranging pick-up and delivery appointmentsManage third party warehouse operations and complete all customs documentationPrepare bills of lading, invoices, and other shipping documents; inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents; maintain internal record-keeping system, record shortages, pick and pack products to be shipped, unpack products received, and identify shipping information and shipping instructions on shipmentsCoordinate inventory location moves within the warehouseReview order accuracy, productivity levels, and general maintenance of the warehouseEnsure team members are working efficiently, in a timely manner, and following processes and procedures put in place by the companyEnsure inventory accuracy is maintainedInvestigate and resolve shipping discrepanciesDevelop manpower planning, recruitment, staffing of full time and temporary team members as well as succession planning. Analyze workload and adjust staff accordingly to accomplish departmental goals.Continue to and support all company sponsored programs and initiatives. Provide positive leadership and seek out opportunities to maintain and enhance morale.Supervise, direct, train and develop team members, including providing frequent and constructive feedback.Communicate departmental standards, expectations, goals, changes and policies to all team members.Maintain and enhance overall Employee relations and job satisfaction through effective communication, fair and consistent treatment, respect for the individual, and establishment of clear expectations and accountability.Ensure team member safety through education and training, promoting safety awareness and accountability and by promptly addressing potential hazards.Comply with Toys"R"Us Health and Safety policies, procedures and standards and with the OHSA to ensure a culture of safety throughout the organization. Monitor DC safety, physical security and operational metrics on a daily, weekly and monthly basisQualifications:Post secondary education or relevant experience5 years Management experience in a Fulfilment environmentSolid communication skills, interpersonal skills, math and problem-solving skills and organizational skillsProven experience in identifying and implementing process improvementsProficient in MS Office - Word, Excel and knowledge of AccessAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Must possess a forklift license and have experience with an electric pallet jack;Ability to provide after-hours support for critical issuesStrong knowledge and understanding of Warehouse Management Systems and RF technologyStrong leadership skillsPeople Management - ability to assess skills and manage the work and productivity of others while coaching and developing talentBusiness Communication skills - ability to write, speak and present clearly across a variety of communication settings and adjusts communication style to the audienceConflict management skills - ability to view conflict as an opportunity to find common ground and gain cooperation from all parties.Problem solving skills - reacts quickly and appropriately to problems in the DC; follows up in a timely manner to issues not immediately resolvable; ties up all loose ends.Ability to motivate self and others to accomplish important objectives despite a complex environment and multiple demands; creates a sense of urgency and delegates appropriately.Must have high initiative, integrity and dependability and demonstrate responsible, ethical and honest behavior in all tasks and responsibilitiesToys"R"Us is an Equal Opportunity Employer and offers reasonable accommodations to job applicants with disabilities throughout the recruitment process.
