The successful candidate for the process engineering role will play a leading role in our Wastewater Intensification processes department. This position will be part of the Applications & Systems (A&S) team located in Canada, Oakville, ON (location can be discussed). Shape the global future of wastewater treatment solutions by developing new generation intensification processes around Veolia's core technologies.
Duties & Responsibilities
Support global adoption and go-to-market of our innovations by contributing to process assessments, designs, Technology validation, and pre-proposals of our new generation of wastewater intensification processes with MBR (ZeeWeedTM) and MABR (ZeeLungTM) such as zeeDENSETM, memDENSETM, ZeeNAMMOXTM...
Follow-up on Premieres references and lead REX in collaboration with the Technology team scientists and R&D Programs/Projects Leads. Validate data, structure, and consolidate REX from our innovations references for end-users (O&M), process engineers, and consultants around new generations of WW intensification processes (current and future).
Contribute to the development of new wastewater intensification solutions around Veolia's core water technologies to launch new research programs (bio-processes, flowsheets, applications, products) while creating the opportunity to lead new R&D program(s).
Work closely with the Incubation groups and Commercial Engineering teams to contribute and ensure appropriate high-quality proposals.
Foster awareness of innovative biological technologies by presenting at conferences and engaging with stakeholders and strategic practitioners in the water treatment industry.
Management/leadership experience will be required. Potential to manage a small group of engineers in the near future.
Education & Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree in engineering with a focus on Water, Environmental Sciences, or related disciplines. Advanced degree (Master or PhD) preferred.
Experience: At least 8+ years of experience in wastewater treatment process design or related fields. Experience in development proposals is a plus. Experience as a process engineer or expert in designing wastewater projects, water treatment processes, or related fields.
Other Useful Skills and Experience
Track-record experience of projects in wastewater process design and process engineering from a water industry entity (consultancy, process integrator, technology provider…). Experience in WWTPs process designs, engineering, commissioning, operation (MABR, MBR, aerobic granular sludge, MBBR/IFAS, biofilm-based, anammox, micropollutants, reuse…). Experience with biological process simulators, such as BioWin, SIMBA, SUMO, and/or GPS-X. Autonomy, team player, customer-oriented, good command of English and technical communication skills (French is a plus). Strong adherence to Diversity Inclusions, Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) practices.
Working Conditions
A Hybrid work schedule is possible based on profile/experience. 20% Travel to customer sites and conferences, adjustable as per company needs and candidate constraints. Home office as per VWTS Canada policy (2 days/week). Working location is open to discussion based on profile/experience.
