Our client is one of Vancouver's most successful luxury designer consignment retailers. They seek a Director of Sales and Operations responsible for the operational practices of the company ensuring each location runs well; complies with company standards, is properly executing marketing campaigns, follows visual merchandising plans, and meeting budget and sales goals. Working with the executive leadership team, this is a hands-on role with one day a week of admin at Head Office and the other four days are spent in stores working with managers and staff. You will be the leading expert on operational business practices, able to teach and coach on how to assist with clients wishing to sell, sort and accept a "drop off", understand pricing practices, be knowledgeable on how to use and train on the POS, and drive team performance, this could be the ideal role for you.DESCRIPTIONDevelop and Support Managers and EmployeesMaintain a regular leadership presence in all stores, by working full days in stores in the Vancouver area and periodically visiting the Victoria store. Work on the floor with staff and when needed, replace a Store Manager when they are sick or on vacationOngoing training and mentoring of ManagersUnderstand the staffing needs for each store and communicate to HR any needsFind new ways to motivate staffProvide guidance to managers with an emphasis on sales excellence, providing a stellar guest experience, and being a "great place to shop/work."Arrange team building events, rewards, incentivesProvide solutions that address performance issues in a timely and effective mannerManage and assist with ongoing training with retail employees to develop their skills and enhance their job performanceMentor and motivate staff to put in their best, to achieve financial goalsWork with both Store Managers and Senior Buyers to ensure that there is good communication and cooperationContact store managers and other retail staff to communicate relevant informationOperationsAudit the operations and cleaning of stores. Submitting the monthly checklist to the Leadership team and communicating any issues to the Leadership Team.Ensuring that the procedures and processes of the Operations and Managers Manual are followed across the organization. Communicate any issues to the Leadership Team.Manage targets and implement action plans to achieve these targets set by the Leadership team.Support Manager to ensure that the merchandising of goods in retail stores and the window displays are appropriate and attractiveSupport the Managers and the Senior Buyer in fulfilling stock movement between stores when requiredCollaborate with the Leadership Team on sales and promotional ideas/incentives; communicate plans to all in-store team members.Ensure compliance with health/safety policies and procedures at store sitesTake ownership of loss prevention plans, programs, and initiatives; identify and achieve agreed-upon shrinkage goals across all stores.ComplianceOversee in-store quality assurance including but not limited to store organization and housekeeping, in-store signage complianceLead WorkSafeBC efforts for maximum compliance.Work with the Leadership Team to identify and address breaches of corporate policy such as code of ethics violations, conduct and behavioral issues, customer complaints, and employee relations complaints.·Work in partnership with the Leadership Team to keep company policies and forms/documentation current at all times.LeadershipBe a "great place to work" champion; get behind initiatives supporting a healthy, fun and positive work environment.Work with the Leadership Team on all general issues and company direction.
