The ideal candidate will be a decision maker and an excellent communicator who has a strong ability to lead and deliver on strategic objectives. Ultimately, the general manager should be driven by a desire to lead CDI to its maximum potential while maintaining the highest safety, quality, and ethical standards.Key Accountabilities:Leading and developing the strategic plan that charts the future course for CDICreating an annual operating plan and related budgets (operating and CAPEX) that align with corporate strategyOverseeing the successful delivery of all projects from mobilization to completionManaging the day-to-day activities of the business unitEnsuring a proactive and dedicated approach to safetyEstablishing and maintaining effective relationships with strategic partners and clientsResponsibilities:Identifying priority issues that must be addressed to reach short, medium, and long-term objectives and strategiesAssessing risks associated with the business and developing strategies to mitigate themAchieving key objectives in the annual operating plan and corporate strategic planQualifying and assessing potential opportunities and customersCommunicating CDI's value proposition to key clientsActing as a coach, motivator, and facilitator to the team to ensure project schedule, budget and quality objectives are met or exceededDeveloping and maintaining an effective organizational structure that reflects the operational needs of the companyEnsuring effective utilization of financial resources to support business objectives, policies, plans, and budgetsAssess and enhance the foundational pillars of the company including equipment management, estimating procedures, operational efficiency and financial operations.Qualifications:8+ years of experience in a comparable leadership capacity within a related industry.Well-honed decision-making ability and capable of navigating complex business scenarios.Exceptional communication aptitude, adept at conveying ideas effectively with various stakeholders.Proven track record of achieving financial and performance targets, demonstrating a results-oriented approach.Proficient in motivating and guiding employees while ensuring accountability for performance.Comprehensive understanding and practical application of operational procedures encompassing safety protocols, estimating, cost management, procurement, equipment management, HR practices, and financial management.Skilled in assessing and mitigating contractual risks, ensuring the protection of organizational interests.Effective multitasker with the ability to manage diverse responsibilities concurrently, optimizing operational efficiency and productivity.Only candidates who are most qualified for the position will be contacted.CDI and NorLand Limited are committed to equity, diversity and inclusion in our recruitment and hiring practices.Compensation:The starting salary this position is $175,000 CAD per year.
