Welder/Fabricator – Opportunities in Hawke's Bay Are you an  experienced Welder/Fabricator looking for a new challenge? Do you want a c hange of scenery ?   APPLY NOW Tradestaff have Welder/Fabricator jobs available across Hawke's Bay We are looking for Welder/Fabricator with background knowledge and experience with the following (but are not limited to):

  • studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
  • selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
  • cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
  • shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
  • fabricates structural steel and other metal stock to make or repair metal products and structures such as boilers and pressure vessels
  • aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
  • examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
  • finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
  • cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiseling and grinding
  • repairs to metal products and structures using various welding techniques.
  • joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
Ideally, you will be or have:
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience
  • Trade qualifications preferred however scope and length of experience may substitute for the formal qualification
  • Your own tools
  • Own reliable transport
  • At least 2 work references
  • 100% commitment to Health & Safety
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test
