Job Summary Develop tactical Engagement and Embedment strategies and delivery plans. Formulate associated practices and ensure operational implementation and adoption across Everyday Banking, Physical Channels (Retail Branch Network) in terms of Engagement and Embedment methodologies, governance and delivery objectives. Job Description Key Performance/Responsible Area capacity allocation:
  • Integration component : Integrating activities and initiatives to weave a cohesive and compelling storyline/intervention to ensure colleagues and stakeholders are include on the journey (45%)
  • Embedment : E ffectiveness of awareness creation and implementation initiatives (30%)
  • Communication : As a tool to achieve desired/contracted outcomes (25%)
Implementation, Change and Engagement Framework Development & Execution:
  • Conceptualises, design plans and implements large scale colleague and Leadership engagement sessions to address strategic business imperatives.
  • Develops, facilitates and advises on internal implementation and embedment tactical plans and strategies that promotes a positive culture, increases engagement, and ensures all frontline, regional and head office colleagues within Physical Channels, and interlocking businesses, are aware of key initiatives and organisational changes.
  • Use audience insights and segmentation to create relevant and tailored content for delivery and engagement.
  • Develops engaging and informative content for a variety of internal communication channels.
  • Leverages off expertise on utilisation of various processes, applications and techniques and tailors content to reflect the embedment of the Physical Channels story and implementation of the strategy aligned to the specific needs of frontline colleagues, regional management, and interlocking businesses.
Business and Change Management:
  • Provides specialist advice and support in assisting to manage and deliver on business initiatives.
  • Interlocks with the Change team in Physical Channels, leading the awareness creation aspects of change management initiatives within Physical Channels.
  • Develops engagement frameworks, ensuring that frontline colleagues and regional management are well-informed about upcoming changes, understand the reasons behind these changes, and how they will be impacted.
Brand and Group Communication Alignment:
  • Ensures that all internal business initiatives align with the overarching group communication strategies and adhere to Absa's brand guidelines.
  • Fosters a consistent brand experience across all internal channels.
Advisory & Stakeholder Management:
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders within Physical Channels, frontline teams, regional management, and interlocking businesses to understand their business needs and align messaging and interventions to suit the needs of the target audience.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, proactively ascertaining stakeholder requirements, and providing strategic advice on issues ranging from crisis interventions and communications to long-term programmes.
  • Takes responsibility for managing the expectations of multiple stakeholders, collaborating effectively with colleagues outside immediate team and business area.
Measurement & Evaluation:
  • Utilise surveys, feedback, and other tools to gauge the sentiment and engagement of frontline colleagues and regional management.
  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of targeted internal engagement and communication embedment within Physical Channels, adjusting as necessary to improve reach, understanding and impact.

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to align communication strategies with Absa's strategic objectives and the objectives of Physical Channels and its interlocking businesses.
  • Change Management: Ability to effectively leverage change and communication enablers to manage change within Physical Channels.
  • Personal and Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to build relationships and engage with stakeholders at all levels within Physical Channels and interlocking businesses.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues that may impact the effectiveness of internal communication and implementation of initiatives within Physical Channels.
  • Innovative Thinking: Ability to use creative and innovative approaches to enhance internal communication and engagement within Physical Channels.
  • Commercial Effectiveness: Has good understanding and is up-to-date with relevant business knowledge and consistently exploits opportunities for further improvement on business critical initiatives.
