No Location:Holywood, Co. Down Job Summary: This job is part of the Mechanical and Electrical Building Services team. The successful candidate will be required to work closely with colleagues to provide electrical designs and specifications. Contacting architects, project managers, Building Control and many other members of the design team and statutory bodies to ensure projects are successful and information is accurate. Individual will need to work as part of a small team and work under their own initiative meeting tight deadlines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1.Ensuring that the electrical aspects of a project perform effectively and efficiently. 2.Can advise clients about design and cost-effective energy systems for building services such as lighting & power. Promote Energy efficiency and address other sustainability issues. 3.Site Surveys and providing condition reports. 4.Looking into the sustainability and cost effectiveness of a design project. 5.As a design team member, discussing the clients requirements, visiting site to appraise and measure etc. 6.Identify the materials and equipment to be used in various systems and work with the suppliers of these systems to get the best price and quality products and services. 7.Prepare sketch schemes for client approval and develop working drawings for statutory approvals. 8.Producing detailed working drawings for tender action in conjunction with the design team. 9.Prepare detailed schedules of work and specifications. 10.Ensuring that all building services meet health and safety standards and up to date regulations. 11.Performing Miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned 12.Attend regular site meetings and if necessary chair meetings where SCC is lead consultant. 13.Travel to and from site will be required and fuel costs will be covered. Travel outside of Northern Ireland may be required. 14.Lighting and emergency lighting calculations and design. 15.Electrical Circuit Calculations and designs. Skills/ Knowledge Requirements: Academic: Minimum Level 4 qualification in building services related discipline preferred. Professional Accreditations: A degree in a related discipline preferrable. Experience: A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role or site as an Electrical Engineer. Key Competencies Numerate Literate Excellent English both verbal and written Attention to detail Able to manage time Work as part of a team and with little supervision. Good Analytical and problem-solving skills. An eye for detail and good design Strong technical drawing skills Good IT skills with a familiarly with industry specific software. Skills: CAD/ Revitt Abilities: To communicate with all levels of personnel both internal and external Personal attributes: Confident, articulate and a good team player.
