In line with our commitment to excellence, we seek a skilled Virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) to join our team.Job Description:We are seeking an experienced vCISO with a robust background in Canadian cyber security compliance, specifically within the legal sector. The chosen candidate will play a pivotal role in providing strategic direction and leadership in cybersecurity compliance matters, ensuring our client's adherence to relevant regulatory standards and industry best practices.Responsibilities:Spearhead the development, implementation, and maintenance of tailored cybersecurity compliance programs for the legal industry in Canada.Conduct routine compliance audits to evaluate the efficacy of existing security controls and identify areas necessitating enhancement.Offer expert counsel and guidance to Buchanan Technologies' leadership and the legal client on cybersecurity risk management and mitigation strategies.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to establish and enforce policies, protocols, and optimal data protection measures.Act as a recognized authority on Canadian cybersecurity regulations, encompassing PIPEDA, GDPR, and pertinent industry benchmarks like ISO 27001.Lead the response efforts in the event of cybersecurity incidents, coordinating closely with internal teams and external stakeholders as required.Stay abreast of emerging cybersecurity threats and trends, proactively recommending measures to fortify our client's security posture.Mentor and empower junior members of the cybersecurity team, fostering a culture of continual learning and professional development.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.A minimum of 5 years' experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years dedicated to the legal industry.A minimum of 3 years of experience specifically as a vCISO.Profound comprehension of Canadian cybersecurity laws, regulations, and compliance prerequisites.Demonstrated proficiency in leading compliance audits and formulating robust risk management strategies.Exceptional consultative and communication abilities, with a talent for engaging stakeholders across all organizational tiers effectively.Canadian Citizenship is a prerequisite.Possession of recognized cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA is mandatory.Ability to work autonomously and efficiently in a remote setting, with minimal oversight.Commitment to dedicating a minimum of 40 hours per month, with flexibility to accommodate additional workload demands as necessary.Joining our team as a vCISO presents a unique opportunity to exert a substantial influence on our client's cybersecurity posture and contribute significantly to their success.
