Facility: "St. Francois" Facility - Montreal, QCPOSITION SUMMARYThe Facility Maintenance Manager is responsible for assisting with the operations and maintenance of three refrigerated warehouses as well as the management of employees assigned to maintenance and operations, the creation of documented processes for operations, maintenance and health and security. This individual carries out continuous improvement activities and the implementation of capital projects.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESLead and promote a culture where Health and Safety is the #1 priority. Provides leadership and support for Health & Safety initiatives within the department.

Create and maintain efficient communication with employees.

Be an example in terms of professional and ethical practices and attitudes as well as the guiding principles of the Company.

Promote and ensure compliance with provincial regulations on stationary engine mechanics, electrical safety, the environment, health and safety, labor and all other applicable regulations and laws.

Monitor and adjust building / warehouse equipment and systems to reduce energy consumption and service costs.

Ensure that the temperature control requirements of the Company's customers are met, monitor, recorded and perform daily checks of the refrigeration equipment / building.

Carry out continuous improvement initiatives for warehouse energy management operations and programs.

Develop, monitor and provide effective preventive maintenance and a safety program for all refrigeration equipment, the building and the pallet racking system.

Participate in the management of major repairs, improvements and additions to warehouse / building systems, pallet racking system and equipment.

Keep records of maintenance and repair schedules.

Ensure warehouse and product security by monitoring security systems and enforcing security procedures.

Recommend procedures and programs to improve operations and equipment.

Provide open access and assistance to regulatory authorities with respect to warehouse / building systems and equipment.

Purchase supplies, parts and equipment necessary for the performance of maintenance tasks at the warehouse / building.

Give directions to and manage contractors and suppliers.

Active participation in joint health & safety committees' meetings for all three sites

KEY REQUIREMENTSStrong leadership and supervisory skills

Fluency in English and French is required (written and spoken)

Class A refrigeration mechanic certificate (MMF - Refrigeration, Class A) or Ability to obtain certification in Quebec

Trade license, post-secondary training in engineering techniques is an important asset.

Experience working in a HACCP GMP environment is an important asset.

Experience in refrigerated warehouses considered an important asset.

Experience with computerized maintenance management systems.

Experience with building management and equipment control systems.

Knowledge of Quebec regulations regarding stationary engine mechanics, environmental laws and regulations, occupational health and safety law, building codes, regulations for elevators, pressure vessels, electrical safety and related codes and regulations.

Experience with warehouse security programs, establishing preventive maintenance programs and controlling energy costs, managing repairs and maintenance budgets.

Budgeting control experience and project execution experience.

Computer skills with Windows, Microsoft Office, emails, worksheet and project management software.
