Location Address: Downtown Toronto- Hybrid model (2-3 days a week in office)Contract Duration: 5-6 monthsPossibility of extension & conversion to FTE - Depending on performance and business needsSchedule Hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday (No overtime)Reason: Extra supportTypical Day in Role:• Design and implement secure, scalable, and robust cloud infrastructure solutions using GCP to support application development and deployment needs.• Migrate existing on-premises applications and services to GCP, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.• Monitor cloud environments, analyze performance metrics, and implement enhancements to meet scalability and cost-efficiency goals.• Automate cloud operations and deployment processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.• Ensure compliance with security and data protection regulations by implementing and managing cloud security tools and best practices.• Collaborate with development teams to architect cloud-native solutions that are optimized for GCP.• Provide technical guidance and support for cloud-related issues to IT and development teams.• Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and GCP features to continuously improve cloud infrastructure and operations.Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:• 10+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).• Proven track record (completed projects)of designing, deploying, and managing applications on GCP, including experience with GCP services such as Compute Engine, App Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Functions, and BigQuery.• 5+ experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform or CloudFormation.• Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, and IAM best practices.• Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.Nice-To-Have Skills:• Previous experience working in an Agile environment is an assetSoft Skills Required:• Authentic, decisive, resilient, highly collaborative, curious and results-oriented• Superior writing, research, presentation, and project management skills.• Strong problem solver who supports the team to navigate challenges and/or asks for help from above when needed.• Superior writing, communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.Education & Certificates:• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.Best VS.
