Architectural Design Draftsperson

Our client is looking to hire an Architectural Design Draftsperson to produce detailed production drawings, architectural component data sheets, and material take-offs for architectural components for ships. The role includes working with the Lead Architectural Designer, suppliers, and the construction team. This is a long-term role for the right candidate with opportunity to learn new skills in a challenging but rewarding industry.Job Responsibilities:Prepare FD and PD design packages.Prepare colour Coordination Manual.Contact with Vendors and stakeholders.Solve outfitting/ architectural design problems.Assist design management.Assist in preparation of designs, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and production packages.Use computer software as a tool for solving complex design problems.Oversee and own the execution of the design development process and assist senior staff scope of design work breakdown packages.Required Skills:Diploma from recognized institution.Design management and/or Architectural experience.Computer experience (AutoCAD, Navisworks, Word, Excel, InDesign, Photoshop, Sketch up, etc.)Strong design skills and ability to solve complex design problems.Good communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrable experience of working to deadlines and agreed performance indicators.Ability to effectively communicate verbally, in writing and through drawings/sketches.Must be flexible in the role regarding work scope and hours.Must be a Team player.BC Resident with valid work permit for BC.If you see yourself in this role and want to learn more about this opportunity then please apply to this job posting and reach out directly to careers@dukemarine.ca, with your most updated resume.Duke Marine Technical Services Canada Inc. is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
